Summary:
  • This role is home based with weekly travel to our Head Office in Slough
  • Responsible for all AkzoNobel brands within the High Street Channel, with direct responsibility for a P&L in excess of c.£20m GIV and with aggressive investment and growth plans
  • Reporting directly into the Customer Business Director, and with line-management responsibility, manage and develop one of AkzoNobel's key growth channels
  • Role involves building and influencing relationships, delivering AkzoNobel's business strategy to gain commercial advantage over our competitors, ultimately delivering profitable share growth for AkzoNobel
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible and accountable for managing and developing the customer relationships, while looking at ways to develop and grow our offering across the full AkzoNobel brand portfolio
  • Responsible and accountable for delivering significant improvements in business processes & cost savings opportunities for the account
  • Delivery of specific projects is vital to the success of this role
  • Needs to work closely with key contact cross-functionally within AkzoNobel and externally within the customer businesses
  • Achieving GIV, Sales Value and Contribution Margin targets
  • Deliver Portfolio EPOS and forecast accuracy in line with targets
  • Agreeing a winning 5P promotional plan which is brilliantly executed
  • Managing working capital on the accounts
Requirements:
  • Educated to degree level (optimal but not essential)
  • Experience managing National Accounts, working with leading brands and dealing with large complex customers
  • An FMCG background ideal
  • Proven track record in delivering sustained growth with leading customers
  • A thorough understanding of how to maximise profitable growth
  • A track record of developing business processes/performance
  • Ability to plan effectively communicate and influence at all levels
  • Understanding of complex customers, issues and markets
  • Working in a fast paced environment to tight deadlines, the individual needs to be a team-player with a strong desire to work hard to achieve the business results, with excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Commercially focused and financially aware, the individual will be ambitious, driven to succeed and possess strong leadership potential
  • Key to success in this role will be negotiating a commercially sound Trading Terms, along with successfully negotiating tactical opportunities, including secondary sites & promotions, driving profitable growth, while securing strong long-term and collaborative working partnerships
