Sherwin Williams have an exciting, full time 1 year placement opportunity within their European Procurement team based in Chapeltown Sheffield. As part of the Category Buyer role you’ll be covering the EMEA region, partnering with procurement and business stakeholders to support project led procurement initiatives and projects.

Responsibilities:

Project Support for CBG Group:

  • To support the Senior Category Buyer and to work collaboratively across the organisation on a number of cost savings and packaging projects
  • To work effectively with the CBG Marketing, Sales and Operations teams to support them in successfully launching new products with our customer base
  • To be proactive, working with cross functional teams to deliver defined added value benefits, alternative sources and new packaging solutions

Market trend analysis

  • To utilise all available resources to analyse market trends in the supply base and commodities impacting the purchase price of the packing sourced by each SW business
  • To manipulate market data and advise the business on market trends in the supply base to allow for an understanding of future commodity costs

Procurement process

  • To support the purchasing team in various purchasing projects e.g. analysis of RFQ results, analysis of proposals, negotiations, creation of contracts with vendors. The intern also supports and further develops purchasing processes, tools, systems and guidelines
  • Establish effective and proactive relationships with the key suppliers
  • Identify opportunities to control and reduce costs within the category and to deliver the best value from bought in goods/raw materials to maximise profitability
