Job Overview

The role:

  • To maintain and grow sales with new and existing customers, providing commercial support in order to exceed the UK teams’ sales targets
  • To plan and carry our customer visits throughout the UK and Eire with clear objectives and goals in an efficient manner
  • To develop profitable, sustainable business in line with the company strategy and business plan


  • To grow sales through new customer acquisition and through the maintenance and development of new accounts
  • Develop a strategic sales plan to map and develop the UK market
  • Collect information through visits and other means in order to define projects through the NPD/NBD process and provide sufficient information (commercial and technical) to facilitate a successful project
  • Manage and maintain good customer relationships (respecting all aspects of bribery act 2010) to ensure delivery of on-going business in line with UK Sales Budget and the projects in a timely fashion
  • Prepare and provide pricing to customers (in conjunction with the National Sales Manager) in line with company policy
  • Attend customer premises for meetings and product trails, where appropriate
  • Prepare visit reports for each visit completed, in addition to weekly activity reports
  • Report of activities highlights and low light to be completed by the first Friday of the new month
  • To attend the monthly sales meeting and prepare monthly forecasts of customer for which the SM is responsible for to present at that meeting
  • Complete all expense forms in a timely fashion and in line with company policy
  • Liaise and attend meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business
  • To be accountable for the profitability and sustainability of business delivered to the company
  • Carry out market research, competitor and customer surveys where appropriate


  • Extensive experience with Polymers, Masterbatch or additive technology
  • A driven and determined individual, with the ability to seek out and win new business
  • Manages with a high level of integrity, with a real customer focus
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to listen and translate customer needs
  • Good understanding of the financial impacts of pricing decisions to a commercially driven organisation
  • Good market knowledge, with the ability to translate and connect micro opportunities in strategic customer plans
  • A natural communicator, good negotiator and an entrepreneur, who is driven by results
