Accounting Controller

£40,000 – £60,000 pa depending on experience and location

Awarded Top Employer status, we are a company that forms successful partnerships with customers and we are now recruiting an Accounting Controller to oversee the production of consistent high quality and timely group and business statutory reporting for a set of legal entities within our Decorative Paints business.

As Accounting Controller, you will collaborate with colleagues to monitor the quality of the balance sheet and statement of income for your respective reporting entities as well as produce periodic month reporting. You will co-develop specific guidelines to ensure minimum requirements for the balance sheet review meet business needs. You will also guarantee compliance with IFRS, internal accounting treatments and policies, local and statutory and fiscal requirements. We will look to you to support the standardisation of retained accounting processes and standards too. Important will be the ability to inform the local stakeholders on the outcome of the balance sheet review and indicate potential risk and opportunities on treatments as well as initiate and implement cross departmental performance improvements.

You will possess a relevant accounting qualification and have significant relevant work experience within a finance function. You will have gained in depth knowledge of financial accounting and be proficient in accounting processes, IFRS and webFEM. Comfortable bringing solutions and suggestions to business teams for finance, accounting and the underlying processes and principles, you will possess strong analytical and interpersonal skills. You will have experience and be comfortable in preparing statutory accounts, and seeing the end to end process through with external auditors.

A good communicator, you will enjoy working in a matrix environment, be effective at building relationships and implementing change initiatives. A good working knowledge SAP is essential, whilst knowledge of Oracle Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and Microsoft Dynamics AX would be an advantage.

This role offers excellent exposure to the UKI Decorative Paints Board of Directors’, and many other key finance and non-finance stakeholders both in the UK and Netherlands.
