Yordas Group is a leading international provider of scientific and consultancy services, regulatory advice and training to industry in sustainability, chemicals management and risk assessment. Location: Lancaster, UK / Remote in the UK

Salary range: Dependent on experience, full-time position

The UX/UI team

Design and user experience is a new area of focus for us as a company and we’re working to transform our SaaS platform into a world leading solution for effective Product Stewardship of the use of chemicals in supply chains. We work in cross-functional teams with UXers working closely with our business units, stakeholders, and software engineers throughout the product discovery, design and development process.

Here’s what you can expect to be working on as our Head of User Experience at Yordas:

In the business:

  • You’ll lead and be the voice of UX/UI across the business
  • Extend data-driven and evidence-led UX practices into the business
  • You’ll manage, develop and mentor the existing team of two
  • Balance the development of the team with the development of the user experience
  • Drive UX/UI best practices into the product development teams
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, business unit leads and the development team

On applications:

  • You’ll take a lead in discovering, defining and designing new applications within our platform alongside developing targeted enhancements to existing applications
  • You’ll work with business unit leads to understand the business requirements for new applications
  • Work with the business teams and the UX team to research and analyse the market, competitors, industry and users for the platform and its applications
  • Draft key objectives and results, and make data driven decisions for the platform
  • Develop and maintain a prioritised backlog of user stories that guide the development team and lead backlog refinement meetings
  • Help plan product releases
  • Work in close collaboration with the development team to turn ideas into reality
  • Test the applications with users to make sure they deliver on the promise

Who we’re looking for

  • A strong, positive leader, role model and mentor to all UXers
  • A Robust background in UX and product design and development
  • You’ll have an eye for great UX/UI and a good understanding of design best practices
  • Ability to create structure and planning around UX engagements with our clients
  • You’ll create a high-performance, customer-centric culture throughout the organisation and continuously monitor the needs of the customer
  • Charismatic, collaborative leader who can articulate a vision, set direction and engage and motivate others to achieve outstanding results
  • Influence key stakeholders in a collaborative manner to achieve the required outcomes
  • Must be able to demonstrate a passion for, and have proven success in, driving continuous process improvement

It would be great if you

  • Have an understanding of the chemical using industries and the regulatory landscape
  • Have experience working within manufacturing supply chains
  • Have experience working on other B2B SaaS platforms
