Maintenance Technician

£35,778 plus £5800 shift allowance plus bonus. Overtime available.

You are a multi-skilled Electro/Mechanical Engineer with Electrical bias, who is used to working in a fast-paced production environment. Now you are to embrace a new career opportunity. We are now looking for a Maintenance Technician to work as part of a small team performing reactive and proactive maintenance on factory machinery and infrastructure.

As Maintenance Technician you will help minimise production down time by performing Planned Preventative Maintenance and reacting to breakdowns and diagnosing faults. You will undertake routine electrical inspections and complete repairs as required too. You will also install new equipment. You will work on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical equipment. Important will be the ability to make sure work is completed in line with recognised codes and practices and promote safe working practices. We will also look to you to suggest ongoing improvements that will help the business continue to perform for customers.

In addition to good GCSEs, you will have successfully completed an Engineering Apprenticeship NVQ 3 – HNC Diploma. You will possess extensive maintenance experience, preferably gained in an environment where hazardous or flammable chemicals are being handled. You will also be portable appliance testing trained. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations plus Compex Cert Ex01-06 is required too.

In addition to your technical knowledge, you will be effective communicator who is self-organised, able to prioritise and focused on working in a safe and responsible manner. This role will require you to operate as part of the call out team, covering nights and weekends on a rota basis. You will also be physically mobile to work around production machinery.
